it does hurt alot, especially if its ur first one...it does help a teensy bit to take deep breaths but i always end up crying a little bit cuz it really does hurt..obv everyone handles pain differently but its not a walk in the park..its awkward, its uncomfortable because ur laying with ur knees to ur chest while a stranger surveys ur ******** and puts hot wax on it but the results are worth it in the end...its expensive but the price and pain dont stop me from getting them. on a scale of 1-10 id say its around an 8...taking pain relievers before hand hasnt helped me much..they do have OTC numbing lotions but u might want to call and ask if its ok to use them cuz 1. its a sensitive area and 2. it might make it harder to get the wax to adhere to the hair. call the salon ur looking to go to and talk to them and they can tell u some suggestions and options if ur that worried about that pain..dont attempt it urself at least not the first few times u get it done...no good can come of that!! good luckHow bad does a brazilian wax hurt??
It does hurt. Thats a senstive area, so 30 minutes prior, take an advil. It'll reduce any pain you'll feel by like 1/4. Go to a good place. They usually have some kind of numbing spray that they spray down there, and then they wax. That helps A LOT. Also, 1st timers, it hurts like h-ll!. Dont wait too long between appointments, b/c the longer the hair, the worse it is for you. And make sure you research places to go- get recommendations from friends...b/c some cheaper places use regular hot wax, and sometimes that hurts. Other places use special wax. Just do your research and go for it b/c you wont have to shave for a month!
It's relative...you need to establish your pain threshold with your readers before anyone can really answer that and be helpful. Like...do you have a tatoo or piercings? Have you had kids? What has happened to you in the past that you thought was really painful...then people can say..oh it's worse than that, or much less painful than that...
It hurts, but the pain is temporary...
Use tweezers to pull one hair out of the area. Multiply the feeling by a couple of hundred and you have your answer.

I do them on other people all day long. 99% of the people say ';It wasn't that bad!'; the other 1% are cry babies!
Wax a small area somewhere else for an ';idea'; of what to expect, then multiply that by like 40.

Most of my clients seem to do okay. The biggest hurdle is the very first appointment because you don't really know what to expect. The majority say that it was not as bad as they expected but it wasn't the most pleasant experience either.
They thank me later and their husbands thank all the time. Some of them actually call to book their wives Brazilian appointments for them so it is totally worth the time and money.
The nice thing about it, after the first 1 - 2 times, you will notice that the hair grows more sparsely so when you get it waxed the next time it is not as bad. Just don't go over 4 weeks because then its like the first time all over again. Alot of it is psychological due to the awkwardness of the service. Get it done and you will thank them the next time your see your Esthetician/ Waxing Technician.
